On the morning of December 24, the world’s largest and China’s first dual-fuel power system large-scale trailing suction dredger with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters was launched, invested by CCCC Shanghai Shipping Bureau, general contractor of CCCC Dredging Technology Center, and built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry. The "New Sea Sturgeon" ship was solemnly held at the Zhenhua Heavy Industry Qidong Marine Engineering Project, marking that the research, development, design and construction of my country's LNG-powered trailing suction dredger has filled the gap in clean energy dredgers.

It has internationally advanced technology and will greatly enhance the CCCC Dredging’s competitiveness in the domestic and foreign dredging markets.

The trailing suction dredger is a dredging engineering ship. It is mainly responsible for channel dredging and maintenance. It is also a "big country's important weapon" for sand blowing and reclamation. The project was designed by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation 708, with a total length of 155.7 meters, a width of 32 meters, a full load draft of 9.9 meters, and a maximum mud tank capacity of 17,000 cubic meters. There are three floors below the main deck. The bottom floor houses main engines, generators and other power equipment, and the middle floor houses centralized control consoles, distribution boards, etc.
Control system, The upper main deck houses cranes and dredging equipment. This project is currently the largest LNG-powered trailing suction dredger in the world.
The project is equipped with the most advanced and intelligent equipment in the country. The "one-click dredging" and "dredging-driving-in-one" system will enable only one person to complete driving and dredging operations at the same time for the first time in China. The project's LNG and diesel fuel can be switched at any time, thus achieving maximum green environmental protection and energy saving. Purpose.
The project is expected to be delivered in September 2024. After delivery, it will be mainly used for dredging and reclamation of coastal ports, deep-water channels and coastal maintenance projects, which will help promote domestic green shipping. The development is of great significance
