The starting point of the Changjiang Waterway Improvement Project is located at Yaogongdu, Poyang County, Shangrao City, and the end point is 0.5 kilometers downstream of Lümeng Bridge in Jingdezhen City.

The estimated total investment of the project is 3.761 billion yuan, and the planned construction period of Liyang Hub is 48 months. The project has been included in the "Water Transport "14th Five-Year Plan" Development Plan" and "Jiangxi Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" Comprehensive Transportation System Development Plan. The main construction content of the project includes the improvement of the third-level waterway by 77 kilometers; the demolition of the Huanggang and Yushan hubs and the merger of the new Liyang hub (including the hub traffic bridge); the demolition of the Yaogongdu Bridge, the Guxiandu Bridge, the Taiyangbu Bridge, the Huanggang Hub Bridge, and the Yushan Hub 5 hub bridges; rebuild Yao Gongdu Bridge and Yushan Bridge at the original site; relocate and rebuild Guxiandu Bridge and Taiyangbu Bridge; build smart waterways, smart ship locks, ecological restoration, reservoir area protection, cable removal and modification and other supporting and special projects .

After the project is completed, it will enhance the advantages of Changjiang’s shipping resources, improve the high-level waterway network of Jiangxi Province’s inland rivers, promote the coordinated development of the regional economy, and better serve and lead the development of regional economic and industrial industries along the Changjiang River. It plays a significant role in undertaking industrial transfer and optimizing the industrial layout along the river. It is also an important support for Jiangxi to solidly promote common prosperity and Jingdezhen to create a new example of common prosperity practice.
